The CellDetect® Products offer differential detection of cancer cells. This technology is a functional cell-based in vitro assay that can distinguish between normal and cancer cells. When staining clinical specimens, the CellDetect® Products enable color discrimination so that normal cells stain greenish-blue, cancer cells stain red. This is done while maintaining the morphological distinctions between normal and cancer cells. This is in sharp contrast to current staining methods such as H&E or Pap staining that only visualizes morphology, thus bringing color coding for superior identification of a wide variety of cancer cells.
The CellDetect® Products are simple to operate, and take around 30 minutes to complete cell staining following fixation of the clinical specimen. The stained slide can be visualized and analyzed under a microscope, where the cell color can be compared to cell morphology and other cell parameters. This process has the potential to be fully automated.
